Encodable Login System
Our login system allows you to keep certain parts of your website private. When you log in with your username and password, these private areas become available. You can have a single administrator account for yourself, or you can set up multiple accounts or give accounts to friends. Here are some of the benefits of having a login system:
- add/delete users: you can create login accounts for other
people, if you wish. member accounts let people post messages
on any blogs or photo albums that you've chosen to make private;
administrator accounts can do those things and can also access
other advanced functions of the website.
- private comments: if you don't want the public to be able
to comment on your weblog or your photos, you can choose to
only allow logged-in users to post messages.
- edit/delete comments: as an admin, you can edit or delete
comments on your blog and your photos.
- view the visitor log: you can view detailed information
about your visitors as an admin.
- hide from the visitor log: admins don't show up
in the visitor log, so you can check up on your site all you
want, without worrying about cluttering up the log.
- update photos: as an admin, you can
add captions to your photos, and choose photos to be displayed
on a "favorite photos" page, and do many other photo-related
tasks, all through the web browser.
- edit quips and quotes: you can add/delete quips and quotes through the browser as an admin.
Encodable CMS
A Content Management System (CMS) is a website system that lets you
easily create & edit pages on your website anytime, right in your
browser, without needing to know how to program or write HTML code.
Our CMS can also function as a weblog or blog, which lets you keep an
online journal that others can comment on. Here are some of the
features of our CMS:
- spellcheck: every page/post you create will display a preview
with spelling errors highlighted.
- avatars: the gravatar
system allows you to have the same avatar (a small image/icon that
identifies you) across the entire internet; the Encodable CMS
includes gravatar support.
- private posting: you can require people to log in before
they post, if you want to.
- edit/delete: your posts and pages are editable through the browser.
- recent activity log: your site can have a log of recent
posts, even when they're comments on older posts.
- email notification: the system can email you whenever a new
post/comment or page is created.
- photo posting: you can post photos in your messages.
- google-style search: the CMS has a built-in search that
works just like google (i.e. terms automatically ANDed, use
quotes to search for phrases)
- text-formatting: you can make bold, italic, underlined,
strikethrough, and blockquoted text, and you can color-code
blocks of text to make conversations easier to read.
- hyperlinking: of course you can link to other websites,
pages within your own site, or directly to posts within
the blog itself.
- help: there's a "help?" link right by the posting button
that explains how to do the text-formatting, hyperlinking, etc.
- post-locking: you can lock posts/pages on an individual basis if you don't want to allow replies on them.
Encodable Visitor Logger & Statistics
Our advanced real-time visitor logger shows you who's currently
on your website, how long they've been there, where they came
from, what kind of computer they are using, and more. Of
course it's also a visitor-counter too, and it will automatically
backup and email archives of the logfiles to you. Your site
will also have a detailed stats page for a
summarized view of all your visitors.
Encodable Photo System
Our photo system allows you to transfer a set of photos to your website in three easy steps, and it has these features:
- photo searching: you can add search-terms to each photo so people
can search your photos.
- edit photo info: you can edit captions, choose favorites, and hide
photos right through the browser.
- movies: you can include video files in your photo sets too.
- slideshow: every photo set on your website has a built-in slideshow
mode.
- EXIF data: visitors can view the photographic details such as aperture,
shutter speed, etc., for your photos.
- multiple sizes: visitors can choose a large or small size when viewing
your photos, and they can also click a link to get to the full-sized original
photo (if you enable it).
- comments: our CMS/blogger system is integrated into our photo system so your
visitors can comment on your photos.
- favorites: for each photo you get a "favorites" checkbox, that allows you
to designate your best photos to appear on a separate favorites page.
- random photos: you can have a few random photo-thumbnails appear on each page on your website, so visitors see something new each time they come back.
Quips & Quotes
"Quips" are short quotes, typically no more than about 10 words. You can have a random quip appear in the titlebar of your website, or a random quote appear on each page. You can add new quips and quotes right through the web browser.
Contact Page
Your website will have a contact page, where visitors can send you email
right through your website. You can read some of the
reasoning behind this kind of contact system.
